The equipment we use for aerial photography consists of the latest, state-of-the-art radio controlled helicopters. We have both gas powered and electric powered helicopters to assist us in tailoring our photo sessions to the environment. Our helicopters are 4 feet 3 inches from nose to tail, and the main rotor diameter measures 4 feet 6 inches.
The camera platform carried by our helicopter is capable of panning 360 degrees and tilting 160 degrees, thus giving us the ability to capture even the hardest-to-get photos. We use a Sony High Resolution, 7.2 megapixel digital camera and the latest software to produce an extremely high quality photo. For this to all come together, RC Aerial Photos shows up at the photo session as a team, a helicopter pilot and a camera platform operator. Each operator has a separate transmitter, one controls the helicopter and the other controls the camera platform. The helicopter pilot's duty is to keep his eyes on the helicopter at all times and precisely maneuver it with the attached camera platform at various angles and altitudes, as instructed by the camera platform operator via 2-way headsets.
